The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are set to be remixed on an upcoming Record Store Day EP.
The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart aren’t your normal remix fare. The Brooklyn band worship at the shrine of classic indie, name-checking Sarah Records and Orange Juice in their lyrics and on record.
Yet a new Record Store Day EP finds four guest producers pulling apart the band’s music. The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart have handed over the stems to four cuts from ‘Belong’ – with some intriguing results.
Twin Shadow have turned ‘Heart In Your Heartbreak’ into something with a House feel, while Violens bring out some Industrial tones from ‘The Body’.
St Etienne gets to grips with ‘Too Tough’ re-inventing the cut as an early 90s synth pop classic, before Washed Out contribute a blissed out version of ‘My Terrible Friend’.
Play It Again Sam are set to press up a limited edition vinyl edition of the new remix EP. Due to be released on April 21st, you can stream the EP in its entirety HERE.
