Chicago band The Orwells have split up.
The group faced growing accusations of abuse, with The Orwells posting a statement yesterday (August 29th) in an attempt to address this.
It read in part: "We emphatically deny these baseless allegations brought as a personal attack against us. While callow altercations and vulgar language we’ve used in the past must be recognized and owned up to, the accusations of sexual assault are completely unfounded."
Cancelling a show in their home city, The Orwells have now decided to part company. In a brief social media message they wrote:
