The National are set to follow a series of international tour dates with their new studio album.
The National have made no secret of the fact that they have been working on new material. The band took charge of an instalment of All Tomorrows Parties before Christmas, while Matt & Aaron Dessnor brought their ambition, Mayan apocalypse meets baseball production 'The Long Count' to London last year.
Well now they're back. Toying with fans, The National broke the announcement into several pieces and placed them onto their social media accounts across an entire day. First up: that tour. The band are set to hook up with Dirty Projectors for a number of Stateside shows, before travelling to Europe.
No British shows as yet, although The National will be playing Live at the Marquee in Cork on June 28th. Later, the group wrote on Facebook: "Oh and also, thought you might like to know that we'll be putting out a new album in May".
Hold the bus and stone the crows! More information as / when we have it.
