The Maccabees have unveiled a snippet of new single ‘Pelican’ – due for release on January 1st.
Sneaking out of their rehearsal studio, The Maccabees played a number of intimate shows earlier this year. The band introduced new material, which forms the spine of their forthcoming third album.
‘Given To The Wild’ will be released on January 9th, with the band spending two years crafting the new material. The Maccabees brought in Tim Goldsworthy and Bruno Ellingham to oversee sessions at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales.
Working with the pair for around a month, the album was completed at their own studio with Jag Jago from Ghost of a Thousand brought in to engineer the songs.
“We’ve grown up as people and changed as a band,” guitarist Felix White said recently. “We’ve learned for the first time what we really wanted The Maccabees to sound like on record. It’s taken us three albums but we finally achieved that. We’ve discovered what we’re truly capable of and that feels really exciting.”
The first single to be taken from the new album, ‘Pelican’ is due to be released on January 1st. Stream a snippet of the single below…
