The Maccabees could be set to claim their first number one with new album ‘Given To The Wild’.
Released on Monday (January 9th) the new album from The Maccabees has been met with almost unanimous praise. An ambitious, probing document that somehow retains their pop touch, ‘Given To The Wild’ seems to mark the point where the band make a great leap forward.
It seems that their fans agree. ‘Given To The Wild’ is selling strongly, and according to the latest figures from the Official Chart Company the band could be in line to score their first ever number one.
Currently outselling last week’s chart topper Adele, The Maccabees are top of the mid-week countdown. With those all important weekend sales yet to be counted, though, all that could change by Sunday night.
