Now here's a thing…
The Longcut were Clash favourites at one point, with their post-punk leanings fuelling two studio albums: 'A Call and Response' (2006) and 'Open Hearts' (2009).
But since then? Nothing. Perhaps real life got in the way, but The Longcut seemed to burrow underground and lost the means to get back out again.
New song 'Deathmask' ends almost a decade of silence, and it's a blistering, Brutalist return, a slab of concrete riffs and scorching synth noize.
An ambitious six minute return, it's a real surprise and better than we ever could have hoped.
Tune in below.
The Longcut will release new album 'Arrows' on April 6th.
