In a way, this was inevitable.
After all, The Libertines reformed this summer to play London's Hyde Park, with even critics of the band noting their resilience and continued charm.
But it still comes as a little shock to find that the group are not only working on new material, but intend to release it through Virgin EMI.
The deal was seemingly inked Ko Si Chang Island off the coast of Thailand recently, with new releases forthcoming. The boys of Albion were clearly thrilled:
Peter Doherty: "I don’t know what to say, I’m so happy. It was a beautiful day."
Carl Barat: "After everything we have been through The Albion sails on course again, I couldn't be more excited."
