The dynamic duo behind seminal British group The Libertines, Pete Doherty and Carl Barat, have been reunited onstage in London.
The songwriters, now firmly ensconced in Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things, played a short acoustic set together in Camden’s Prince Of Wales pub. Originally, it has been announced that Doherty would play solo as part of London Fashion Week.
The Prince Of Wales has become the latest chic boozer in London, with a celebrity clientele that can boast members of Oasis and model Sadie Frost. The pub was recently the subject of a documentary by MTV, and has been hosting events linked to London Fashion Week.
The Libertines pair performed a number of songs together including “Horrorshow”, “Time For Heroes” and “Don’t Look Back Into The Sun” at the informal gig.
Although the Libertines ended in chaos and disharmony, Doherty and Barat have frequetly performed together since the collapse of their former group.
