Transatlantic blues rockers The Kills have been rocked after singer Alison Mosshart was rushed to hospital.
The Kills were playing a show in Boulder, Colorado as part of their North American tour when the singer began complaining from shortness of breath. Mosshart had been suffering from a combination of a cold and altitude sickness, and her condition noticeably deteriorated throughout the show.
As a precaution the show was cut short, with the singer being rushed to hospital. After a brief stay Mosshart was released and now plans to continue on the group’s tour dates in the United States.
The Kills have had no luck in America. Recently the group’s tour bus was stolen, along with some of their possessions. The vehicle was later recovered, and the driver charged with grand theft auto.
However things are looking up for the band. Their debut album ‘Keep On Your Mean Side’ is due to be re-released with a number of bonus tracks, and Mosshart has begun working with Jack White on an exciting new project.
The Dead Weather is the latest group from White, who already holds down positions in The White Stripes and The Raconteurs. Mosshart has been chosen to front the band, who will release their debut album ‘Horehound’ later this year.
A number of American tour dates have been confirmed by The Dead Weather, and it is expected that the group will visit Europe later in the year.
The Kills are set to continue their tour of the United States as scheduled.
