The Kills return with two new songs – ‘New York’ and ‘LA Hex’.
The band’s previous album ‘Ash & Ice’ landed in 2016, a powerful, venomous piece of stripped back rock ‘n’ roll. Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince have reunited, with a pair of brand new songs placed online for fans.
Out now, ‘New York’ has a rock crunch to it, with Mosshart’s vocal oozing venom. The video matches its innate physicality – the singer sits at the side of a boxing ring, the punches choreographed to the music.
‘LA Hex’ shows a slightly different side to The Kills, an atmospheric roller that embodies underground cool. Both videos were directed by Andrew Theodore Balasia (Prada, Jeffrey Deitch Gallery) – it’s good to have them back.
