The Killers are set to release a new single this Christmas, despite being on hiatus.
The Killers took a break last year, with some fans fearing the worst. However the festive period can heal many rifts, with the Las Vegas band recently heading into the studio to record a special single.
Each year the band release a Christmas themed single, designed to coincide with World AIDs Day on December 1st. A tradition begun in 2006, The Killers have in the past invited special guests on board.
For one Advent single the band worked with Elton John, who supplied some nifty piano work on a cult single. Now a new announcement from The Killers has confirmed a new Christmas release.
Due on November 30th, The Killers will release ‘Boots’. A statement on the band’s official website says simply:
“Get ready – “Boots” will be out on Tuesday November 30th in North America. We’ll post more info as it becomes available. Watch this space.”
The band took a break last year, following an epic tour to promote ‘Day & Age’. Working on different projects, singer Brandon Flowers released his critically praised solo album ‘Flamingo’ earlier this year.
However the group seem to have reconvened for one special track. ‘Boots’ will be released in the United States on November 30th, with full details of a European release still to be confirmed.
