The Jesus & Mary Chain Working On New Material

"It’s a more mature sound..."

The Jesus & Mary Chain imploded following the release of final studio album 'Munki' in 1998, with the relationship between the Reid brothers finally tearing itself apart.

The band were extinct for more than a decade, before reforming for a series of visceral – if sporadic – live shows.

Now, it seems that the legendary noise rock outfit are set to work on fresh material. Jim Reid spoke to Time Out recently, and confirmed that The Jesus & Mary Chain were working on a new album.

Vocalist Jim Reid explained: "We actually just started recording."

"It’s early days, but I would say it’s a more mature sound for the Mary Chain. But let’s just wait and see."
