The Ivor Novello Awards 2023 – Nominations

The prestigious awards show returns next month to Grosvenor House...

The Ivor Novello Awards have consistently re-directed our attention to the importance of excellent songwriting.

Across nine distinct categories, 72 artists of all walks of life have been acknowledged for their work in the past year. This year’s nominations highlight the breadth of UK music, consistently blurring the boundaries between soul, rap, jazz, pop and indie music.

Leading the way are Harry Styles & Kid Harpoon and Cleo Sol & Inflo with 3 nominations each. Other key nominations include Florence Welch, Wet Leg, George Daniel and Matty Healy and Central Cee, all up for Songwriter of The Year with Amazon Music.

The likes of Arctic Monkeys, Little Simz, Fontaines D.C., SAULT and Obongjayar have snapped up nominations for this year’s Best Album award, each proving the importance of artistic autonomy and innovation. Elsewhere, Kate Bush fans will be pleased to hear that ‘Running Up That Hill’ has creeped its way back into 2023, nominated for PRS for Music Most Performed Work.

The awards show will return to London’s Grosvenor House on Thursday 18th May 2023.
