The Invisible’s Dave Okumu Salutes Prince

With this fantastic new track...

When The Invisible played the Great Escape the band were clearly in an emotional frame of mind.

Marking their return, the band unfurled material from their soon-to-be-released third record, before singer Dave Okumu presented a tribute to Prince.

Written in the days following the death of his idol, 'Oceans Of Purple' is a potent reflection on the performer's legacy, and features guest vocals from Jamie Woon.

Dave Okumu comments: “Raw and refined, he resides in my spirit as an emblem for free and fearless expression. Even beyond the grave, through his overwhelming contribution to culture, Prince challenges me to go deep into my inspiration and not to be dictated to by external factors. In recent years, through the loss of my mother, I have learned that death can't contain love. As I confront the grief of losing my hero, I rejoice in the fact that I will spend the rest of my years floating in an ocean of purple.”

Check it out now.

'Oceans Of Purple' will be released on June 25th via Ruby Moon Records.
