Damon Albarn invites 'Primary Colours' Goths

Blur front man and Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn invited ‘Primary Colours’ goths The Horrors down to his studio,13, to work on the highly anticipated new Gorillaz album.

Its 4 years since studio and concept album Demon Days was released and shot to number 1 raising Albarn’s profile even further, he thrives on collaborations and notable contributions from De La Soul, Martina Topley-Bird, Roots Manuva, MF DOOM, Shaun Ryder ‘Happy Mondays’ Dennis Hopper helped Demon Days become a huge success selling over 6 million albums

The BBC confirmed that an email was sent by Albarn to The Horrors, he cited Primary Colours his motivation for getting in touch despite its relatively poor chart performance. The Horrors Rhys Webb told BBC 6 music, Damon Albarn got in touch after hearing their second album, ‘Primary Colours’, which was released earlier this year.

“It was kind of a strange email saying, ‘Would you guys be able to come down to my studio at some point?'”

“We had no idea really what it was about but thought that would be great to go down there, have a chat, it would be nice to meet him.

“We went down to the studio and he said, ‘We’re working on the new album and we’ve not collaborated with a guitar band before and your album is one of the most exciting things I’ve heard in a long time. Would you be up for working on a track?’.
