The Hold Steady will release new album ‘The Price Of Progress’ on March 31st.
The incoming LP is the bad’s ninth studio album to date, and it will be released everywhere on the band’s Positive Jams label via Thirty Tigers on March 31st.
Set to be release digitally and on CD, vinyl editions include standard black, translucent green-colored vinyl (band store), metallic gold (indie retail), metallic silver (Vinyl Me, Please), and white (Rough Trade).
The project is led by bold new song ‘Sideways Skull’, which erupts out of the tracks blending crunching indie rock fire with Craig Finn’s ever-reliant pen. He comments…
“’Sideways Skull’ is a rocking song about rock and rollers. In this case, they’ve been taken out of the game for a bit of rest, but still keep their dreams alive as they discuss past glories. We loved the big sound of this when Tad Kubler brought it into the band, and the studio performance of it felt especially joyful. We’re happy to put this forth as a first look at ‘The Price of Progress’, and the album’s title even comes from this song.”
Tune in now.
The Hold Steady have also confirmed some red-hot UK live action – they’re playing two shows at London’s Electric Ballroom (March 10th – 11th) and a sold out date at COLORS on March 12th.
