Detroit group The Greenhornes are set to reform for a new album and a full British tour.
The Greenhornes have been pushed to the side by the band member’s recent projects. A well respected Detroit group, the band have fed into rock supergroups such as The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.
Unfairly neglected, the band’s slim output is a thrilling journey from rock to blues to soul. Now The Greenhornes have re-united, with their forthcoming album ‘****’ set to be released through Third Man.
Using only symbols, ‘****’ could stand for anything. ClashMusic can think of a few suggestions, but it’s what is inside that counts and The Greenhornes have supplied fans with a typically eclectic selection.
Produced by the Detroit three piece, The Greenhornes’ new album is the sound of friends just enjoying making music. Moving from glam stompers to Delta blues rockers ‘****’ is a much more mature offering.
Inspired by classic 60s pop and R&B the band’s classic influences are met by a disregard for the past. A thrilling return, The Greenhornes new album will feature additional sleevenotes from director Jim Jarmusch.
Set to be released on November 15th, The Greenhornes are due to play a series of British tour dates. The band will open the tour in London on November 19th, before travelling around the country.
Finishing the tour on November 23rd, The Greenhornes will end their British jaunt with a visit to Glasgow.
