The Go! Team have shared new single ‘Gemini’.
The ever-eclectic collective are on the comeback trail, with a new album and a full nationwide tour in the works. Incoming LP ‘Get Up Sequences Part Two’ lands on February 3rd, while a lengthy live run opens in March.
New single ‘Gemini’ is a punchy showcase for wordsmith Ninja, and her impeccable flow runs across the psych-pop production. All choppy breaks and lysergic textures, the track blasts Ninja out to the cosmos; “galaxies got ’em all aligned, made a universe to my design”.
The songs points to the influence of Nikki Giovanni’s poem Ego Tripping, with producer Ian Parton commenting: “I love the way her swagger is elevated to the supernatural and the impossible”
Ninja adds: “It’s a sparkling, cheeky starburst in the winter sun. Gets your neck poppin’ and hips shimmying. I’m a Libra, by the way.”
