New Jersey blue collar rockers The Gaslight Anthem have confirmed the tracklisting for ‘American Slang’.
Formed in New Jersey, The Gaslight Anthem are perhaps the best known exponents of ‘The Jersey Sound’. Merging the clenched fist Americana of Bruce Springsteen with punk’s fury, the group have won a cult following.
Releasing their second album ‘The 59 Sound’ in 2008, The Gaslight Anthem were chosen to support Bruce Springsteen on a series of huge tour dates. Exposing them to a vast new audience, the band’s music attracted huge word of mouth support.
Taking time off to work on new material, The Gaslight Anthem have now decided to return with their third album ‘American Slang’. Due for release on June 14th, the band are streaming the title track on their Facebook page.

Speaking to the NME, singer Brian Fallon revealed: “All I can say is that the songs sound really big! It sounds like a movie, it’s sonically a lot bigger than the last one”.
“Not bigger in an ‘American Idiot’ (Green Day album) where it’s like there’s a play going on, but bigger in terms of bold statements. It takes you on much more of a ride than the last one.”
Produced by Ted Hutt, the album’s cover art has also been released featuring a collage of different photographs.
