The Flaming Lips Announce ‘Sgt. Pepper’s…’ Tribute Album

Beatles classic to be covered in its entirety...

Released in 1967, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' became an almost immediate classic.

One of the true artistic high-points of the psychedelic era, it founds The Beatles defiantly shredding their mop top image in favour of orchestras, Eastern mysticism and LSD.

The Flaming Lips are huge fans and have now confirmed plans to cover the album in its entirety. Re-tooled as 'With A Little Help From My Fwend' it finds the Oklahoma group working with all manner of guests.

Out in the United States on October 28th via Warners, full UK details are only just beginning to trickle in. Fans who pre-order the album from May 18th will gain a free download version of 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds' featuring Miley Cyrus and Moby.

As a neat aside, some of the sales from this album will benefit the Bella Foundation – an Oklahoma City organisation which aids terminally ill pet owners with the cost of pet care.
