Ageless post-punk legends The Fall have premiered their new video on Bury Council’s website.
The Fall have a good claim to be named ‘the most Northern group of all time’. Formed out of Manchester’s post-punk milieu, their sound and lyrical vision is so steeped in the North of England that it is nigh on impossible to imagine the group existing elsewhere.
Singer Mark E Smith’s Salford drawl has become the thing of legend-uh, with the frontman heading up a rejuvenated version of The Fall. Joined by some new faces, the group recently signed a deal with Domino Records.
New album ‘Your Future Out Clutter’ is gaining warm reviews, with fans suggesting that the latest version of the group is probably the finest in more than a decade.
Currently on tour across the country, The Fall have decided to premiere their new video on Bury Council’s website. Titled ‘Bury’ the track is a grinding slice of Kraut-punk with Mark E Smith on typically surreal form.
The new video is shot in super slo-mo and is one of the band’s most visually arresting projects to date.
Directed by production team ThirtyTwo – Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace – the video is being shown on Bury Council’s website as a nod to the town which inspired the song in the first place.
