The Fall are set to release their 29th studio album ‘Ersatz G.B.’ on November 14th.
With a history going back over some three decades, The Fall remain a complex beast. Escaping from the line up problems which dogged them during the birth of the Noughties, the post-punk legends are currently in a vital phase of their career.
Released on Domino, 2009’s ‘Your Future Our Clutter’ was a fantastic release, demonstrating that Mark E Smith had lost none of his bite. Recently tying up a deal with Cherry Red, it seems that The Fall are ready to return.
‘Ersatz G.B.’ will be released on November 14th and is – somewhat surprisingly – the third Fall album in a row to feature the same line up. The stability seems to be helping them, with ClashMusic catching a ferocious performance by the band at Glasgow’s Electric Frog recently.
At one point even acknowledging the crowd, Mark E Smith appeared to be in a more relaxed mood. Only lashing out once at an unlucky snapper, the frontman led The Fall through an impressive set.
Hopes are high for ‘Ersatz G.B.’ which drops on November 14th. Cherry Red will handle the album, which is set to be preceded by a one off single containing an as yet unannounced A-side.
Confirming a few details about their new album, The Fall also announced several British shows – details after the jump.
