Legendary rockers The Faces could be on the verge of reforming, with reports suggesting that a world tour and studio album could be on the cards.
The Faces grew out of Mod heroes the Small Faces, and went on to become one of the defining British groups of the early seventies. A launch pad for the career of Rod Stewart, the band also contained legendary axeman Ronnie Wood as well as the sublime genius of Ronnie Lane.
Name checked as an influence from everyone from Oasis to American roots rockers Black Crowes, The Faces have been reformed to be one the verge of reforming before. Creative lynchpin and all-round musical legend Ronnie Lane died of MS in 1997, but it is thought the band could reform without him, as Lane left the group two years before they officially split.
In a report in The Sun, it is stated that Ronnie Wood and Rod Stewart met in a London restaurant, with sources close to the band stating that the two has been inspired by the recent reunion of Led Zeppelin.
The Faces split in 1975.
