In a new interview Rod Stewart has revealed that all the original members of legendary rock group The Faces are set to reform for rehearsals on Monday (November 17th).
Growing out of Mod icons Small Faces, the band were one of the most respected rock ‘n’ roll groups around in the 70s acting as a launch pad for the hugely successful career of Rod Stewart. Combining a love of soul, rhythm and blues, rock and folk the band wrote some stunning material as well as producing inspiring re-workings of established classics.
A famously raucous live band, the group were renowned for their drinking habits as well as their onstage camaraderie. A favorite of the late John Peel, a Faces reunion has long been rumored.
The Faces split in 1975 after bassist Ronnie Lane and guitarist Ronnie Wood had already left the band. Sadly, Lane cannot take part in the re-union after dying in 1997 of pneumonia relating to his multiple sclerosis.
Rod Stewart was speaking at the Claridges Bar 10th anniversary party and said the band would use Stewart’s current touring bassist to fill in for Ronnie Lane.
The Faces are to reform, ring the bells let the world rejoice!
