‘The Endless River’ Will Be The Final Pink Floyd Album

"It's a shame but this is the end."

Marking their return after some 20 years of silence, 'The Endless River' is set to be yet another historic milestone for Pink Floyd.

Yet in a radio interview earlier today (October 8th) the legendary prog outfit indicated that the material could become historic for another reason.

Chatting to 6Music presenter Matt Everett, Pink Floyd were asked directly if they would record another album. David Gilmour replied in the negative.

"No," he said, before adding: "Well Rick (Wright)'s gone, dead. I'm pretty certain that there will not be a follow up to this. Polly, my wife, thought that would be a very good lyrical idea to go out on. It's a shame but this is the end."

Some sessions recorded with the keyboard player before his death in 2008 could feature on Gilmour's next solo project, however.

"I have a little bit of Rick playing from my solo stuff that will hopefully appear on my next solo album," he confirmed, "but not a Pink Floyd album."
