The Drums are downsizing to become a three piece ahead of their forthcoming British tour.
The stresses and strains of a rise to the top can crush a new group. Thrust into the public’s glare, The Drums have travelled across the world in 2010 with their debut album becoming a critically acclaimed success.
However recent events have shaken the New York based outfit. Touring across the United States, The Drums lost guitarist Adam Kessler who left the band.
Parting company with the group, Kessler has left a huge hole to fill. The Drums have roped in a close friend to complete the North American shows, and have now released a new statement concerning their future.
“There have been some questions as to recent events and we are sad to confirm that Adam Kessler has left The Drums” they said.
“The Drums (Jonny, Jacob and Connor) will continue as a three member band, and though we are distressed by recent events we are excited for the future. Despite recent reports, we haven’t replaced anyone.”
“We have started work on the new album and are all thrilled to be embarking on our first US tour this month and returning to the UK in November to play concerts. We thank you all for your support and will see you soon”.
The Drums are set to open their British tour this November. The band are set to release their new single ‘Me And The Moon’ on November 7th, taken from their recent self-titled debut album.
Set to play London’s Forum venue, the show sold out almost instantly. As a result, a second date has been added at the same venue, set to take place on November 24th.
Other dates which have sold out include a show in Dublin, and the final show in Manchester on December 6th. Tickets are selling out fast for several other dates, with the tour due to open on November 24th.
