The Coral Prepare New Single

'Walking In The Winter' due for release

The Coral are due to release their new single ‘Walking In The Winter’ on November 22nd.

Sometimes greatness can just pass people by. The Coral are a case in point – the band have been making exquisite psych-pop for so long now that each new release seems to be greeted with apathy.

It’s almost as if the band are too consistent, just too melodic for their own good. Returning with yet another release this summer, The Coral went about soundtracking the festival season in the same manner as they have done for the past decade.

The Liverpool group may have lost Bill Ryder-Jones but the remaining five members are still capable of casting a spell over audiences. The Coral have a sublime back catalogue, but have no intentions of resting on their laurels.

Announcing their new single, the band have chosen to take on one of their idols. The Coral are set to release ‘Walking In The Winter’ on November 22nd, complete with a rendition of the Byrds classic ‘I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better’.

Originally released in 1965, the track is robbed of its jingle-jangle guitars. Instead, The Coral emphasise the lush harmonies, bringing out the warm enveloping vocals which verge on the psychedelic.

Released as a new UK tour dawns, The Coral are planning to play a series of UK shows. Opening in Leeds on November 14th, the shows move across the country before finishing in Liverpool on November 20th.

Tickets are on sale now.

The Coral are set to play the following shows:

November
14 Leeds O2 Academy
15 London Royal Albert Hall
17 Oxford O2 Academy
19 Glasgow O2 ABC
20 Liverpool University
