The Coral Prepare Acoustic Album

'Butterfly House' re-worked

The Coral are set to release an acoustic version of their recent album ‘Butterfly House’.

Don’t look now, but The Coral may be just rank as some of the finest songwriters of their generation. A perennially under-rated band, the Liverpool group found their sound and stuck to it.

An amalgamation of folk, dub, psych and more The Coral’s devoted fans include some iconic musicians. On the release of their new album ‘Butterfly House’ Mani declared it to be the finest LP since The Stone Roses’ debut offering.

Released to widespread acclaim, the band toured across the country. Playing some special shows, The Coral performed to a sold out audience at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall last night (November 15th).

Now the band have confirmed details of a new acoustic album. Locking themselves away in the studio, the Liverpool group recorded a stripped back version of the material from ‘Butterfly House’.

Issuing a statement singer James Skelly said: “Everyone liked the acoustic gigs so much they asked us to record the songs in a more stripped-down version. We recorded and mixed the album in one day. Everything is live. The songs stand up really well and the album shows them in their raw form.”

Recorded and mixed in just one day, the album is due to be released on December 6th. Meanwhile, the band have two shows on remaining on their current British tour. The Coral are set to play Glasgow’s ABC venue on November 19th, before finishing with a hometown show in Liverpool.

Tickets are on sale now.
