The Cliffords Share Coming-Of-Age EP ‘Strawberry Scented’

Heartfelt songwriting from the Irish risers...

Cork-based five-piece The Cliffords have shared new EP ‘Strawberry Scented’.

The band are part of an incredible wave of energy in Irish music, five friends drawn together by a shared passion. New EP ‘Strawberry Scented’ is their most potent work yet, bringing together tales of youth, adolescence, and young adulthood.

Lyrically, it’s packed with mistakes and regrets, and with ambitions fulfilled – the agony and ecstasy of a coming-of-age experience, built around some superb guitar pop hymns.

Reminiscent of Wolf Alice in places, or even Irish peers INHALER, The Cliffords are able to blend punchy indie energy with piquant pop. Opener ‘Second Skin’ is the perfect primer, while fan-favourite ‘If The Shoe Fits’ rings out with promise.

Closing with ‘Shattered Glass’, the EP is a terrific piece of work, with The Cliffords commenting…

“‘Strawberry Scented’ is the soundtrack to our shared experience as vibrant, maturing, and unapologetically Irish youth. We wrote these songs to capture the complexities of love, heartbreak, and the self-reflective nature of our generation. What started as a bit of fun became a familial bond between musicians devoted to writing songs that we adore, even if they are a bit sad sometimes.”
