The Chapman Family have unveiled a cover of Morrissey’s solo single ‘Everyday Is Like Sunday’.
2012 promises to be a big year for Morrissey. The indie icon is to get his day in court, with the NME being forced to defend themselves against allegations that they have besmirched the singer’s character.
For many different reasons, The Chapman Family could also have a fantastic 2012. The newcomers recently re-jigged their line up, with the band now focussing on sessions for a new EP following the release of their debut album earlier this year.
The next 12 months promise to be vital, but for now the band are trying to relax. Recording a cover of Morrissey’s classic solo single ‘Everyday Is Like Sunday’ the band have released it online.
Matt Fodor directed a video for the cut, which you can watch below alongside a note from the band.

“Here’s a video for a cover version we did of “Everyday is Like Sunday” by Morrissey (filmed and edited by Matt Fodor).
We filmed it on a freezing cold morning on Sunday 3rd December at the edge of the mouth of the Tees on South Gare near Redcar in the north east of England.
I wanted us to cover the song and film the video near Redcar as (even though it’s not) having lived there myself I was convinced that the song was written about this particular coastal town that they forgot to close down.
[Apparently was inspired by a Welsh resort called “Borth” – which conveniently enough is one of the postcards featured in the video, so there you go.]
Hope you like it, we’re going to post some more videos up soon of other brand new demos and cover versions we’ve been doing over the last two or three months. We’ve written A LOT so be warned, (plus the other songs have noisy guitars in, don’t panic.)”
