Texas might be one of America's more conservative states, yet this repressed atmosphere has helped to foster a unique artistic spirit. Starting with Roky Erickson and the 13th Floor Elevators, Texas has contained a psychedelic lineage to rival any lysergic voyagers around the globe.

The Black Angels sit at the heart of the current scene. The band recently announced their return, with 'Indigo Meadow' set to be released on April 1st. The band recently gave fans an idea of what to expect.

'Evil Things' is dominated by a powerful, fuzzed up riff which threatens to open up your skull and tear through your consciousness. The song is about a man and a woman from opposing factions meeting on the battlefield.

Alex Mass recently told Rolling Stone "they come to the realization that, by nature, humans have the capacity to be either evil or benevolent, empathetic and compassionate. They share an obvious mutual concern for the human condition, but don't feel as though they are doing anything to make things better. They ask themselves: 'What am I going to do with the power that I have?' This song asks that question."
