The Beatles have shared an alternative take of 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.
The iconic 1967 album helped re-shape pop culture, pushing the album as an artefact and the studio as an instrument in itself.
Set to be re-issued for its 50th birthday, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' has been expanded to include a handful of never before heard alternate takes.
'Take 9' of the title track has been placed online, alongside a few snippets of speech and interaction from the studio process itself.
Paul McCartney explains: “It’s crazy to think that 50 years later we are looking back on this project with such fondness and a little bit of amazement at how four guys, a great producer and his engineers could make such a lasting piece of art”.
Check out the alternate take below.
'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' will be re-issued on May 26th.
