The Backseat Lovers Launch New Album ‘Waiting To Spill’

New single 'Growing/Dying' is online now...

Utah four-piece The Backseat Lovers will release new album ‘Waiting To Spill’ on October 28th.

The band’s self-released debut album ‘When We Were Friends’ landed back in 2019, and became an astonishing word of mouth success. With streams now surging past the 200 million mark, Polydor Records have swooped to sign the quartet.

Selling out London’s Electric Brixton back in May, The Backseat Lovers are now ready to unveil plans for their second LP.

Six-time Grammy-winning producer David Greenbaum has been recruited for the album, with the final product containing 10 songs. The band’s Joshua Harmon comments:

“’When We Were Friends’ was our first attempt at making an album, and it was essentially recording one song, selling some t-shirts at a show the next month, and being able to record another song. Upon finishing it, we were quickly filled with a strong desire to MAKE an album.”

We were pretty much obsessed with the idea of making something that really flowed together and felt like each song was intentionally placed, creating a cohesion that spanned the whole record. Making it a collective body of work as opposed to a collection of songs. Overall though it really feels like a continuation of the next chapter of our lives.”

New single ‘Growing/Dying’ is online now, a mature, insightful return from the indie four-piece – tune in now.
