The Avalanches Spar With Rivers Cuomo, Pink Siifu On ‘Running Red Lights’

But at heart it's a "Spacemen 3 inspired jam..."

Australian production team The Avalanches have shared their new single 'Running Red Lights'.

The reclusive duo recently signalled their return, working on the follow up to 2016 studio album 'Wildflower'.

Out this year, the pair's third studio album was introduced via a Blood Orange collaboration.

New single 'Running Red Lights' continues this collaborative theme, featuring vocals from Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo.

LA rapper Pink Siifu adds some guest bars, but at heart it's a space rock jam from the outer-national production partnership.

The Avalanches' Robbie Chater says…

“Initially we didn’t see this song as a potential single, but Rivers responded to our fuzzed out Spacemen 3 inspired jam with such open heartedness, that it transformed it into something that demanded to be heard”.

“I really loved that wide eyed, elated, almost evangelical Los Angeles sense of possibility that he tapped into. Rivers understands that bittersweet equinox between happy and sad that we are always shooting for. A feeling that comes from, well really, Brian Wilson.”

Director Greg Brunkalla returns to steer the clip, having previously worked with The Avalanches on their video 'Because I'm Me'.
