The Amazons Unite With Royal Blood On New Bruiser ‘My Blood’

Pummelling indie rock from the UK all-stars...

The Amazons and Royal Blood merge forces on all-new crusher ‘My Blood’.

The Amazons are gearing up to release a new album this Spring, with ’21st Century Fiction’ set to arrive on May 9th.

A record that finds the band grappling with adulthood, the release is trailed with an unusual merging of forces – a full collaboration with Royal Blood.

Produced by Mike Kerr and featuring Ben Thatcher on drums, ‘My Blood’ is a full-scale collaboration, adding arena rock heft to The Amazons’ indie thrills.

A song that pushes back against the challenges musicians face in their daily lives, ‘My Blood’ aims to come out on top – no matter the cost.

“Why do we carry on when the chips are down and all we hear is ‘stop’?,” lead singer Matt Thomson asks. “‘My Blood’ is an exploration into why, when you truly believe in something, you can push yourself past the point of pain. It’s not something you can intellectualise, it’s something you feel. With age comes more responsibilities, obstacles, reasons to quit. But in ‘My Blood’ I wanted to illustrate a force out of our control, deep inside of us, that forsakes that rational thinking.”

Tune in now.
