The Afghan Whigs have outlined plans for new album 'In Spades', due out on May 5th.
Material for the album was written and produced by Greg Dulli, with recording sessions hitting locations in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Memphis and Joshua Tree.
“It’s a spooky record,” notes Greg Dulli. “I like that it’s veiled. It’s not a concept album per se, but as I began to assemble it, I saw an arc and followed it. To me it’s about memory – in particular, how quickly life and memory can blur together.”
'In Spades' emerges on May 5th via Sub Pop, with The Afghan Whigs sharing new cut 'Demon In Profile'.
A deeply atmospheric return, you can check it out below.
