More than 25 years on from their untimely split, The Smiths continue to inspire.
The emotional nature of their music means that fans tend to guard their output closely, sparking enormous devotion across the globe.
So when Miley Cyrus decides to cover The Smiths, you can rest assured that they'll be a reaction. Performing at Belfast's Odyssey Arena, the controversial American opted to perform 'There Is A Light That Will Never Go Out'.
The torch song first appeared on the classic 1986 album 'The Queen Is Dead' and remains a favourite with fans. Much covered, the Miley Cyrus version is respectful, faithful to the original – her crooning voice reminiscent of Lana Del Rey's gorgeous melancholy.
