Thandii Launch Debut LP ‘A Beat To Make It Better’

With two slices of psychedelic soul...

Margate duo Thandii have laid out plans for their debut album ‘A Beat To Make It Better’.

The album lands on March 31st, and follows hectic sessions at their studio. The project is spearheaded by vocalist Jess Berry – who has worked with Ghostpoet, Hozier, Mr. Jukes – alongside Graham Godfrey, a noted drummer and percussionist who has teamed up with the likes of Michael Kiwanuka, Little Simz, Cleo Sol, and Inflo.

Indeed, there are shades of Sault’s atmospheric alt-soul at play on the duo’s initial previews with Thandii sharing two brand new songs.

‘Give Me A Smile’ is playful and percussive, Jess pushed to the forefront on a sugar-sweet vocal. In contrast, ‘Trust Issues’ takes you to a slightly darker place, pivoting neatly from the light of its sibling.

Early signs, but the psychedelic edge Thandii offer has something hugely imaginative, and highly alluring to it. Check out both songs below.

‘A Beat To Make It Better’ will be released on March 31st.
