Tesco To Expand Vinyl Range

Tesco is set to expand its vinyl range, with the retailer now set to stock the format on a permanent basis.

The supermarket chain trialled the sale of vinyl earlier this year, stocking Iron Maiden's new album 'The Book Of Souls'.

As the Guardian reports, the success of the project has led to Tesco deciding to expand its vinyl stock, with several new titles set to be added.

It's predominantly vintage fare – Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones and Nirvana all feature – but there are also new releases from Coldplay and George Ezra.

Tesco's music buyer Michael Mulligan comments: "Vinyl is definitely coming back with demand growing stronger year by year and we think there will be a big demand in the UK this Christmas as music fans look for trendy gifting options."

More options for consumers, but is this an entirely good thing? Check out the Clash view.
