'Fader' to be new release

Australian breakthrough act The Temper Trap have confirmed that their new single 'Fader' will be released on January 4th.

2009 has been dominated by internet fads and trends. Opening with a web campaign to stop X Factor winner Alexandra Burke reaching number one, it seemed that the days of hard work leading to chart success had fallen by the way side.

Until Temper Trap, that is. Relocating from their native Australia the band made a new home in London, touring across the country.

Led by Dougy Mandagi, the singer's glorious voice recalls soul greats such as Aretha Franklin. With their widescreen brand of songwriting The Temper Trap sound like U2 before the Irish giants lost their way.

Releasing their debut album earlier this year, the band have become a slow burning success. Single 'Sweet Disposition' rose up through the chart rankings, taking its time before bursting into the Top Ten.

A wonderful track, the success afforded to 'Sweet Disposition' was no more than the band deserved. Now the group have confirmed that they are set to follow this with new single 'Fader' on January 4th.

A typically stunning blast of songwriting, The Temper Trap will accompany the track with a series of new dates. Closing the year with a lengthy UK tour, the band are due to play three special nights at London's O2 Academy Brixton.

With a new tour due to open in the Spring, it seems that 2010 could well belong to The Temper Trap.

The Temper Trap are set to release their new single 'Fader' on January 4th. The band will play the following live dates:

December
6 Belfast Ulster Hall
7 Dublin Olympia Theatre
9 Glasgow O2 Academy
10 Manchester Apollo
11 Lincoln Engine Shed
