Tempa T / Nike Team Up

New running game launched

Nike have launched an ambitious new running game across the streets of London, with help from grime star Tempa T.

The streets of London have evolved over centuries. An aerial view of the city – check those ‘Eastenders’ credits for proof – demonstrate just how incredibly varied London’s architecture can be.

Moving from winding tenements to ultra-modern flats in the space of a few minutes walk, the city is set to be turned into an assault course for a new Nike game. Like a real life gaming board, hundreds of runners are set to take to the street in order to move across the city, winning points as they go.

The GRID divides London into 40 postcodes, from North to South and East to West. A number of markers have been laid out, with runners gaining points as they cross the city.

Runners need to register at the official site – HERE – and will then be given a unique code. This personal code enables them to be tracked across the city, after entering their code at the beginning of the race.

The routes are endless, so you could win by speeding the fastest; flaunting the most stamina or knowing your neighbourhood well enough to sneak the insider routes.

Meanwhile, Nike have teamed up with grime artist Tempa T to launch the GRID. The rapper has freestyled a new track inspired by the game, with the lyrical spitter aiming to inspire runners on to new feats of endurance.

Available right now, Tempa T has filmed a new video to accompany the track – watch it HERE.

The GRID takes place on April 23rd.
