Television are set to play four UK shows this November.
Part of the punk movement which swept through CBGBs, Television had little in common with what followed. In a scene awash with heroin, power chords and braggadocio the group stood out with the sheer poetry and inventiveness of their music.
Initially only releasing two studio albums and a smattering of singles, Television have reformed sporadically since their late 70s peak. UK dates, though, have always remained thin on the ground despite the band have arguably more success in Europe than their native United States.
Thankfully, all that will change later this year. Television have confirmed plans for four British shows, opening with a date at Newcastle's The Sage on November 15th.
Hitting Manchester, the band will then play a headline show at London venue the Roundhouse. Completing their UK tour, the group will perform at ATP's End Of An Era holiday camp weekender.
One more time… here's 'Marquee Moon'.
