Canadian duo Tegan And Sara are to play a headline show at London’s Roundhouse venue.
Formed by a pair of identical twins, Tegan And Sara have risen to cult prominence in recent years. Their stripped down take on indie rock began as a means to entertain themselves, but a few celebrity fans have taken their music to a wider audience.
Jack White is a huge fan, and even invited Tegan And Sara to tour with him. The guitarist even covered one of their tracks with The White Stripes, adding his distinctive wail to the duo’s material.
Returning last year with their new album ‘The Sainthood’ the band won widespread acclaim. Tegan And Sara have evolved into challenging songwriters, with the pair scooping numerous awards in their native Canada.
Heading over to the UK, the pair have begun to enjoy renewed success. A series of tour dates last year saw Tegan And Sara play to sold out crowds, with the pair set to return shortly for their biggest show yet.
The Canadian twins are planning to headline London’s Roundhouse venue on June 24th. One of the city’s most historic venues, the Roundhouse is steeped in rock lore with many famous shows taking place there.
Tegan And Sara are the latest to take to the stage, with the pair planning a new single to coincide. Taken from their new album, ‘Alligator’ is due to be released June 21st ahead of the new show.
In addition to this, Tegan And Sara are set to play a set on the John Peel Stage at this year’s Glastonbury. Sparking a summer of live appearances, tickets for the show at the Roundhouse are due to go on sale shortly.
