Taylor Swift Announces New Album ‘Midnights’

It's out in October...

Taylor Swift will release new album ‘Midnights’ in October.

The songwriter has an incredible work ethic, with her 2019 pop statement ‘Lover’ followed by the hushed intimacy of 2020 projects ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’. Alongside these releases, Taylor has also been re-recording her early work, re-asserting control over her work in the process.

Appearing at the VMAs last night (August 28th), she has now laid out plans for a brand new album, with ‘Midnights’ being released on October 21st.

Confirming the news in her VMA Awards acceptance speech, the announce then went live on socials. ‘Midnights’ documents “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life”.

She writes: “This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams…”

“The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes 12 … we’ll meet ourselves.”
