Tara Nome Doyle has shared powerful new song ‘The Overgrown Path’.
Out now, the song opens a fresh chapter for the songwriter. 2020 album ‘Alchemy’ rightly won praise, while the maturity of follow-up ‘Værmin’ displayed an empathetic lightness of touch.
Taking stock, Tara Nome Doyle has signed to Fat Cat Records, and ‘The Overgrown Path’ is the first fruit of this relationship.
Penned in 2020, the song discusses self-doubt and imposter syndrome – with no mentors to speak of, Tara’s initial journey into music was a difficult one to navigate.
Delicately etched, ‘The Overgrown Path’ ends on a note of hard-won self-assurance. She comments…
“Growing up, I didn’t have any musicians or professional artists around me, and I think that’s why it took me so long to embrace the idea of making music my career,” she shares. “I constantly questioned myself, feeling like an outsider in a world of performers, music geeks, and virtuosos. Yet, I kept returning to this path—drawn by the songs and a life that reveals itself with every step I dare to take.”
