Tara Lily has laid out plans for her debut album ‘Speak In The Dark’.
The South London creative has weaved a singular path through the music industry, melting together soulful vocals, deft after-hours electronics, and aspects of jazz. A singular voice, Tara Lily recently moved to Tru Thoughts, and she’ll release her debut album later this year.
Titled ‘Speak In The Dark’, the record is out on September 27th, a 10-track affair that details the emotional highs and lows of life with ADHD, while also discussing her travels through Asia, and the experiences of reconnecting with India.
The British-Bengali songwriter linked with producer Dom Valentino for the album, which boasts contributions from American jazz trumpeter Theo Croker and CLASH favourite Surya Sen, as well as saxophonist Jazz Lee, Indian classical virtuoso Akash Parekah, Mei Kirby, and additional instrumentation from Archy Marshall aka King Krule.
New single ‘Breathe Now’ blends liquid DNB aspects in the production with jazz flexibility, and Tara’s wonderfully expressive voice.
Tune in now.
