Scottish songwriter Tamzene returns with new song ‘sleeptalking’.
In case you haven’t noticed, the young singer has undergone some changes of late. Replacing her previous major label home with an independent team, Tamzene has continued her journey, on her own terms.
Last year’s touching ‘Dublin Sessions’ EP was followed by ‘Crying At The Laundrette’, a vignette that acted as a kind of one-act play.
New single ‘sleeptalking’ however cuts straight to the bone. A song about a relationship coming to an end, it depicts someone who is blind to their own fate – but realises that everyone around her is in-the-know.
A tale about one chapter ending and another beginning, ‘sleeptalking’ could be maudlin, but instead it sounds brave, resonating with inner strength – and remarkable vocal beauty.
Tamzene sings: “I think we’re done talking / You said out loud what we both knew…”
