Talk Show Launch New Album ‘Effigy’

New stormer 'Gold' is out now...

Talk Show will release their debut album ‘Effigy’ on February 16th.

The band have caused a ruckus with their ferocious live shows, an inferno of ideas and chanting chorus lines. Every song feels like an anthem, moving between crunching rock and the kind of rave physicality The Prodigy made their own.

Out on February 16th, debut album ‘Effigy’ is the moment is becomes real. New single ‘Gold’ was seemingly the first song penned for the album, and it became a marker for what was to follow.

Produced by Remi Kabaka Jr. the single is an onslaught of sound, tapping into Talk Show’s inherent rebellious streak.

The band comment…

The first song we wrote for the album was ‘Gold’, and was finished in about two days. We had this great momentum from being in the studio recording the last EP and just focused on keeping the energy. We started with an underlying, pulsing bass, and I just started mumbling words and lines over top. “Gold coins at the bottom of my pocket” just kinda fell out.

The whole verse then came really quickly and set the path of where we had to go. It’s weird we just knew we had something special straight away. It had a climatic feel, with feelings of frustration and turmoil, mixed with tensions and release. We looked at early The Prodigy and those songs with that type of energy and that helped form the rest of the track.

Tune in now.

Catch Talk Show on tour next Spring, including London’s Courtyard Theatre on March 8th.
