Heavy rain could be on the way

This year's T In The Park could be hampered by cold temperatures and heavy rain according to the latest forecasts.

T In The Park has grown to become one of Europe's biggest musical festivals. This year, hundreds of thousands of fans will pass through the gates to witness performances from Kasabian, Eminem, Jay-Z and more.

However weather remains a major factor in most fans weekend. The latest forecasts are in, and it seems that the Balado site could suffer from excess rain.

BBC Weather's five day report covers the opening days of the festival, and it seems that heavy rain could well fall. The site covers the nearby town of Kinross, which could well see a huge spike in umbrella sales.

The latest forecast predicts that T In The Park will suffer heavy rain on Friday night (July 9th). Fans will face a maximum temperature of 17 degrees Celsius, while the site could get as low as 15 degrees Celsius.

Saturday looks slightly better with the BBC reporting some outbreaks of sunshine. However it will be broken by yet more rain, while temperatures are expected to get even lower with just 12 Degrees Celsius predicted.

Of course, these predictions will be revised closer to the date and it's worth pointing out that forecasters have been wrong in the past. However ClashMusic feels duty bound to remind fans to bring extra pairs of socks, a waterproof jacket and of course those all important wellington boots. We know we will!

Meanwhile, American singer John Mayer has pulled out of the event. Due to appear on the Main Stage he has cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Look out for extensive coverage from T In The Park across the weekend, including news reports, photo galleries and frequent updates from the Balado site.

T In The Park takes place from July 9th - 11th.
