SZA has released her long-awaited track ‘Shirt’.
The Maplewood, NJ artist first began teasing the song back in 2020, with snippets making their way online. A much-mythologised part of her catalogue, SZA decided to hold back the release of ‘Shirt’, opting to pursue other endeavours.
Fans wouldn’t let go, though, and the clamour to hear the song in its entirety continued. Overnight, SZA stirred back into life, and finally gave fans what they had been pleading for – ‘Shirt’ is now out in its complete form.
A lush, riveting piece of alt-R&B, the Tarantino-esque visualiser adds to the allure. Dave Meyers directs the clip, and it pits SZA against Lakeith Stanfield, the star of FX’s Atlanta.
